iOS 10 BMW Bluetooth problems

Hi,

Since upgrading to iOS 10 (iPhone 6) bluetooth with my BMW does not work very well. Streaming quality is good, calls have no issues, I have problems with switching between songs. When I use my steering wheel controls to go to next song it works a couple of times, then it does not anymore. If I start Siri the control is back, but again for few more track changes. This is very annoying. BMW claims it is Apple issue (to be frank iOS9 worked fine), has anyone experienced anything simillar?

Thanks,

Blaise

I have this problem as well. Iphone 6S plus with the latest 10.2.1.

My Iphone will connect to my BMW 328I bluetooth fine however when a phone call comes in i can answer, but I cant hear them and they cant hear me. The phone, after 5-6 seconds will disconnect and then become unpaired with my BMW. Once I re-pair I can make / recieve one (1) phone call, and after that call is completed, the process will repeat itself again of disconnecting when answered if another call comes in.

With IOS 9, I had ZERO bluetooth related problems. Seriously, zero issue. Then something happened. Since upgrading to IOS 10 I've had nothing but Bluetooth issues between this phone and my automobile. So what happened? Well I know my car didn't change, but my phones operating system sure did. Something happened that caused a perfectly good Bluetooth connection in IOS9 to stop working well in IOS 10. I have the latest firmware that BMW supplies for my year / model of car, and I am upgraded to the latest version IOS that Apple offers.

Simply put, I don't need finger pointing as to who is to blame. Since I see many other BMW, and other makes of cars and their owners having difficulties as well, I would be very on point to say this is in Apple's court to fix. It is not a vehicle manufacturers responsibility to fix their car to appease a telephone manufacturer, especially since Androids connect to this vehicle just fine without drops.

I'll be upgrading my phone soon and my ability to use it in my vehicle will very much be a factor of if i stick with Iphone or switch to Android.

Same here. Brand new BMW 5 Series and an iPhone 6 Plus.

When I was on iOS9 calls and audio worked fine, now on iOS10 calls take 5-6 seconds to connect, sometimes the caller can't hear me and I can't hear them.

When the call finishes the music, which was playing on the iPhone connected via USB doesn't restart and I have to press start on the phone to restart the music. Not ideal whilst the car is moving!

I have followed the generic link Apple provided but that simply covers the basics and doesn't provide useful info. Has anyone figured out how to resolve?

Same issue - iphone 6 recent update to ios 10. 2013 BMW 535 with most recent software updates.

1. after resetting everything, and exclusively using the bluetooth connection, things seem to work ok.

2. The problem exists after I use the USB connection (even without booting up BMW connect). Whilst using the usb connection (not the cradle), media and phone functions are acceptable (though media functions such as "play next" don't work).

3. If I return to my car (after having used the USB connection) and then rely upon bluetooth only functionality, the car does tells me that the bluetooth media is unavailable, and even though my phone rings, and I can answer it with steering wheel controls, I cannot hear the caller, and the caller cannot hear me.

I have a 2013 BMW 550i with the latest updates as well. I have the same issue with answering calls after upgrading to ios 10. The person who calls can't hear me and I can't hear them. On my Iphone 6, I've been switching the call to iphone and then back to the BMW and then they are connected. Quite a nuisance. I hope apple fixes this soon.
